The
Dalits, or 'untouchables', form the very lowest class in India's
caste system. They have been severely discriminated for many
centuries, and have recently decided to turn their backs on
Hinduism, the religion that the caste system is built on.
Providing education to Dalit children is an effective way to
break the cycle of poverty and discrimination, while at the same
time introducing the Dalits to Christ. One to One International
sends Dalit children to school with your help. It costs $4 a
month or $40 a year to send a child to school in India. We would
like to help as many children as possible.
